FAQs
Can we focus the day on just one island?
Yes. The itinerary can be weighted toward Ischia or Procida exclusively, depending on your preferences. This can be discussed and confirmed before departure.
Can we have dinner at Corricella instead of lunch?
A sunset arrival at Corricella for dinner is available as a separate evening experience departing from Naples. See the Naples at Sunset tour for details.
Can we visit the Aragonese Castle?
The castle can be visited on foot if guests choose to go ashore on Ischia. The skipper can advise on timing and logistics. The exterior and approach are visible in full from the boat without disembarking.
Are the thermal waters accessible by boat?
Yes. Several thermal spring areas along the Ischia coastline are reachable directly by boat, away from the resort areas. The skipper will advise on the best stop based on conditions on the day.

Ischia: volcanic coastline and thermal waters
The approach to Ischia from the sea is unlike any other island in the Gulf. The coastline is dense and varied: rocky promontories, small sandy coves, towers and fortifications on the hills above. The Aragonese Castle on its rocky island just off the eastern shore is one of the most dramatic structures in Southern Italy, and it appears suddenly and completely when viewed from the water.
Along the coast, natural thermal springs flow directly into the sea at several points, warming the water and creating swim conditions that are genuinely unusual. These areas are accessible by boat in a way that avoids the resort crowds entirely. A swim stop here in warm, mineral-rich water against a volcanic backdrop is one of the most distinctive experiences this itinerary offers.
The thermal waters of Ischia
Ischia is internationally known for its natural thermal waters, a rare feature that makes the island genuinely unique in the Mediterranean. Along its coastline, warm mineral springs flow directly into the sea, creating areas where the water temperature changes noticeably as you approach the shore. These naturally heated waters, shaped by the island’s volcanic origins, have been appreciated since ancient times for their relaxing and restorative qualities.
Experiencing them by private boat means arriving without crowds, without a spa booking, and without a timetable. A swim stop here becomes more than a pause in the navigation it is one of the most distinctive moments the Gulf of Naples can offer, framed by volcanic rock, open water, and complete quiet.
Procida: Corricella and the color of the harbor
Leaving Ischia, the boat crosses a short stretch of open water to Procida. The two islands are close but feel entirely different. Procida is smaller, lower, and more intimate. Its coastline is gentler, its pace slower, and its colors the ochre, terracotta, and faded yellow of the buildings stacked above Corricella harbor are among the most photographed in the Mediterranean.
The arrival at Corricella by boat is the natural climax of the itinerary. The harbor reveals itself gradually as the boat rounds the headland: a crescent of fishing boats, waterfront restaurants, and painted facades that has remained largely unchanged for generations. Guests can go ashore and explore freely, have lunch at one of the waterfront restaurants, or simply sit at the water’s edge before the return.
For guests interested in combining this visit with an evening experience, the Naples at Sunset tour returns to Corricella specifically at dusk a different way to experience the same harbor.
